OUR PROGRAMS & PROJECTS
We engage in various initiatives to promote animal welfare and community awareness. Our team of passionate staff and volunteers work tirelessly to educate the public on humane treatment and responsible pet ownership. We also provide veterinary care and support for animals in distress.
Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR)
Our TNR program is designed to humanely manage the stray animal population within Penang Island. We trap, neuter, and return dogs to their original locations, preventing future litters and improving their quality of life.
Animal Rehabilitation
Animals that come into our hands injured or sick, are given veterinary treatment and care until they are recovered. Our rehabilitation efforts ensure that these animals are healthy and ready to be returned back to their original location or adopted into loving homes.
Rehoming Initiatives
We actively seek families who are ready to welcome a pet into their lives, ensuring a safe and loving environment for each animal we come across that cannot be returned to their orginal location.
Community Outreach
We work closely with the local community to raise awareness about animal welfare issues. Through roadshows and events, we educate the public on our efforts in humane stray population management, the importance of neutering and responsible pet ownership.
Volunteer Engagement
We offer various opportunities for individuals to get involved, whether through hands-on work with animals or support in our fundraising and adoption events.
Advocacy for Animal Rights
We advocate for stronger animal protection laws and policies. Our organization strives to be a voice for the voiceless, ensuring that the rights of animals are upheld in our community.
Where We Work
Centre of Rehabilitation and Adoption (CARE)
From our experience, we believe that not all street animals are strays. Many were once pets that were neglected or abused before being abandoned on the streets. These animals do not belong on the streets, but instead they need a space to heal, time to gain trust and the opportunity to be chosen again.
In our vision, CARE will not be a traditional shelter where animals are left behind, becoming statistics and forgotten for the rest of their lives. It serves as a bridge between abandonment to a forever home for these animals.
